Core Boxes and Foundry Tooling
Matched core box halves, pattern plates and foundry tooling, machined so the split line closes without a step.

The work
Tooling that has to survive the sand
Foundry tooling gets a harder life than the parts it makes. Core boxes are machined in matched halves so the split line closes without a step, vents and locating features are cut in the same setup as the cavity, and the surfaces that meet sand are finished to release cleanly rather than to look well. Building sand testing equipment for the group means the tooling is drawn by people who have watched it run.
- Materials
- Aluminium alloys, cast iron, tool steels, and resin tooling board where the run does not justify metal.
- Size range
- Prismatic work to 600 x 500 x 500 mm on the horizontal centre, and to 1200 x 450 x 450 mm on the vertical centres.
- Features handled
- Matched core box halves, split lines and locating dowels, vents and blow holes, draft angles, ejector arrangements, and cavity finishing.
- Inspection
- Cavity geometry and split line match on the CMM. Surface finish measured where release depends on it.
Accuracy
Made to the drawing, proved against it
Tell us at enquiry stage which characteristic decides the part. We will confirm capability against that one rather than quote a general figure and hope.
Certification route
Anicon holds ISO 9001:2015. Where a part calls for IATF 16949 it is supplied through Versatile Equipments Pvt Ltd, certified to IATF 16949 and ISO 9001:2015. Anicon’s own IATF certification is in progress.
